Student Perspectives

Views and Reviews and Photo Ops offer Columbia students an opportunity to reflect on the arts, on and off campus, both visually and in written form. Interesting in joining the conversation? Read a review by your peer, take a great photo, and contact us to get involved!

Views and Reviews

Read essays about arts and cultural events, institutions, and internships, written entirely by your fellow students. We welcome submissions about current museum exhibitions, dance and theater performances, or talks and lectures. Let your creative voice out, and join our writing team!

Photo Ops

The Arts Initiative, in partnership with the Office of Communications and Public Affairs, is seeking photos from students with their perspective on campus concerts, performances, and events. A carefully curated selection of photos may be used on the Columbia homepage, The Record, and possibly even in mainstream media.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

More than mere snapshots, we would like action images that highlight student activity at these various arts events. See this Flickr set  for a sampling of our preferred look and feel.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Horizontal images, minimum 72 ppi and at least 660 X 337 pixels.

HOW TO SUBMIT PHOTOS:

Images can be uploaded directly to this Flickr group  whereby users can friend the group and agree to the rights and clearances.  Or email Alex Tapnio, Associate Director for Program Administration, at jt3037@columbia.edu, for more information.
