Mabou Mines

Originally written circa 300 BC, and interpreted by University of Edinburgh professor of Drama Olga Taxidou, this timeless Greek myth continues to resonate with themes of gender, immigration and violence.
A re-envisioning of the Euripides play Medea pays homage to the original myth while weaving contemporary themes such as gender, immigration, and violence at the crossroads of East and West.

Directed by Lee Breuer, Medea performed by Maude Mitchell.

This project is made possible by a generous grant from The Roy Cockrum Foundation and support by Judith Scheuer and Joseph Mellicker.
