Join fellow Columbians for an up-close look at special museum exhibits around the city and beyond. Enjoy rare access and exciting conversations with fellow students and faculty. Since launching in 2011 at the Studio Museum in Harlem, our programming has grown to include events at Asia Society, The Jewish Museum, Dia:Beacon, Storm King Arts Center, and more.
Have an idea for a Museum Meetup? We want to hear from you! Send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit during office hours (Wednesdays 3 p.m.-4 p.m.) to tell us about your ideal museum trip.
Students enjoyed a guided tour of the Museum of the City of New York's new exhibit Saving Place: Fifty Years of New York City Landmarks on April 24, 2015. The tour was led by Columbia Professor Andrew S. Dolkart, who helped curate the exhibit.
The Arts Initiative hosted its third Museum Meetup at Storm King Art Center last fall. Columbia students, faculty and staff toured the grounds and engaged in a discussion with curator Nora Lawrence, and enjoyed a free afternoon to explore the 500 acres making up one of the world's leading sculpture parks.
