Uptown Flicks presents a screening of France's Oscar entry BPM at Maysles

Uptown Flicks @ Maysles is pleased to present 2 screenings of France's Oscar contender for best foreign film BPM (Beats per minute) on Thursday, December 14th at 6pm and 9pm at the Maysles Cinema. Michelangelo Signorile will do a post screening Q&A for the 6pm show and an intro for the 9pm show.

The film, a full of life and absorbing story of AIDS activism, is a New York Times "Critic's Pick", winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival and certain to be short listed and nominated for the 2017 Best foreign film oscar. 98% on Rotten Tomatoes!

MICHELANGELO SIGNORILE is a journalist, commentator and author of several books, including the groundbreaking bestseller Queer in America. He is the host of the SiriusXM radio show "The Michelangelo Signorile Show" and an editor-at-large of Huffington Post Queer Voices. He was a member of ACT UP New York in the late '80s, and chaired its Media Committee, publicizing many of ACT UP's protests and demonstrations.

Attendees are welcome to join for a holiday cocktail party with Intîme Boutique Wine in the Maysles Cinema lounge after the 6pm screening or before the 9pm screening!
