Associate Managing Director

Miles of Music
Working Time
Part Time

Miles of Music is seeking an enthusiastic, resourceful, creative leader to manage a week-long music camp for adults on a gorgeous island in the woods of New Hampshire and two small weekend events in New York City and Boston. The camp is a place where people come to retreat, find their musical selves, and forge lasting relationships that expand their musical world in life-altering and indescribably fun ways. We are looking for someone who enjoys steering a small group of dedicated volunteers, and with lots of help and guidance, being the central brain and delegator behind our 7-year-old operation. We live in google docs and social media and hope to find someone as technically fluid as we are. Is this your dream job? Maybe you’re a musician with an arts administration degree. Maybe you love organizing big crews of volunteers for community organizing missions. Maybe you love warm summer nights on the lakeshore around a campfire hearing the voices of new and old friends in riotous laughter and song.

Here are some of the things you’ll do as Associate Managing Director of this fine ship.

You don’t need to do all of these things yourself; some of them can be delegated to volunteers. You’ll track and manage their success.

This job can be remote! We need face to face check-ins in Nashville, Boston or NY throughout the year, and the camps take place in New Hampshire, NYC, and Boston, so if you live in one of those places it is a plus.

Time commitment:
Variable throughout the year with minimum weeks of 3-5 hours and maximum weeks of 40 hours+. Final stage applicants will be given a detailed outline of the projected work schedule. For instance: Range from 5hrs/week (summer) to 40hrs/week (two full-time planning weeks and three weeks preceding camp events). Attendance at camps is a must (and super fun).
