Education Internship

The Education Internship is an opportunity for the intern to develop an understanding of art and cultural education programming. The intern will work closely with Education department staff on the development and implementation of school, family, and youth programs for current and upcoming exhibition seasons. Advanced planning for programs requires a great deal of organization, creativity, and research. The intern will research artists and artworks featured in exhibitions; develop tour themes and art–making workshop ideas for the museum's tour program; assist with content development for museum educator training materials; research performers, teaching artists, authors, and other potential program participants; and receive training on leading gallery tours. The intern will assist museum educators with workshops; spearhead outreach strategies; and perform day–to–day tasks and administrative support. Some evening and weekend hours are required of the position.

The Education Internship is designed for college sophomores, juniors and seniors who are preparing for careers in Art Education, Arts Administration, Fine Arts, Museum Studies, Art History, or related fields. Computer skills are essential.

Spring 2018 Internship Season: January 29–May 4, 2018
Required commitment: Minimum 20 hours/week, during the work week
Stipend: $3500

Only individuals authorized to work for the Museum in the United States will be accepted into the internship program. The Museum will consider expressions of interest in providing volunteer services to the Museum from non–work authorized individuals.
