  Description:
     ALMA NYC is a 501(c)(3) Not For Profit arts company with a strong
     philanthropic initiative, seeking an Executive Director to join
     our team.

     Our core company is comprised of Dancers, Singers, Musicians and
     Visual Artists, all with a heart to serve the community, however
     with an open door policy, we have a healthy flow of new artists
     throughout the year. ALMA NYC is the founder of ‘GIFT’, a
     program which funds young women's education, healthcare and food
     in Burkina Faso, Africa. Locally, we bring arts to youth who
     otherwise may not have access, as well as performing regularly
     with our core company of artists.

An ideal candidate is someone who:

  •      Embraces the mission of ALMA NYC
  •      Displays a positive attitude
  •      Has knowledge and experience in leading a team
  •      Possesses the skills to work with and motivate staff, board members, and other volunteers
  •      Is organized and exhibits follow-through on tasks and goals
  •      Has the desire to get out of the office and build external relationships
  •      Is a self-starter and is goal driven to initiate donor visits and fundraising calls
  •      Is a collaborator

Duties include but are not limited to:

  •      Oversight of all planning for the year
  •      Develop plans to ensure a smoothly run organization
  •      Make sure artistic vision works within financial budget and vice versa
  •      Day to day operations: ensure that all team members are fueled and working efficiently
  •      Direct contact for all external business affairs
  •      Responsible for managing and upholding contracts with outside parties
  •      Develop the culture of the organization
  •      Make public appearances/accept speaking engagements
  •      Attends Board meetings. Provides written reports including a monthly Executive Director report and compiles the annual report.
  •      Has excellent writing skills, day-to-day administrative, financial and communication skills.
  • Ensures compliance for non-profit status with federal, state and local regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as requested
