Summary

In the extensive chain of client interaction at Sotheby’s, the Client Services Department is the first and most highly visible link. It is the responsibility of the team to set the tone for the highest standard of client experience throughout the organization. As Exhibition Staff, you are dedicated to delivering a bespoke client experience on the exhibition floor during our May View of Impressionist & Modern and Contemporary Art. You are the first point of contact for clients when they visit an exhibition floor; available to assist with sale registration, connect clients with specialists, and responsible for sharing high level information on the exhibition as requested.

Qualifications and Requirements 

  • Ability to create premier client experience in any environment
  • Calm demeanor with an ability to multi-task in a high traffic environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a pleasant client service-oriented attitude
  • Proven experience employing problem solving skills when dealing with internal and external clients
  • Team player with a positive working rapport with colleagues
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; SAP and Point of Sale experience a plus
  • Comfortable navigating an iPad
  • Ability to stand and remain mobile throughout the day
  • Must be available to work week-ends and evenings as necessary during the duration of the assignment
  • Appropriate professional all black attire required at all times during working hours
  • Previous experience in a client service, luxury, or hospitality, driven industry
  • General knowledge of art history and art market preferred
  • Foreign language(s) a plus
