Program: BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival

Supervisor: Senior Sponsorship Manager

Full-time/Part-time: Seasonal (hourly)

Dates: Mid-April through Mid-September 2018 (somewhat flexible, potential to extend beyond summer)

BRIC is the leading presenter of free cultural programming in Brooklyn, and one of the largest in New York City. We present and incubate work by artists and media-makers who reflect the diversity that surrounds us. Some of BRIC’s most acclaimed programs include the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival in Prospect Park; path-breaking media initiatives, including the newly-renamed BRIC TV; and a renowned contemporary art exhibition series. BRIC also offers education and other vital programs at our main venue, BRIC Arts | Media House, and throughout Brooklyn. BRIC programs reach hundreds of thousands of people each year.

 

BRIC’s performing arts programs present emerging and established artists in music, dance, theater, and multidisciplinary performance to broad audiences from Brooklyn and throughout New York City, and support the development of new work. Signature programs include the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival, which presents more than 25 free performances each summer at the Prospect Park Bandshell, and our multi-genre commissioning and residency programs.

 

Purpose of Position: The Seasonal Sponsorship Associate will contribute in all areas of sponsorship, media partnership, marketing, development, and administration for the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Develop an understanding of all brand sponsor client and media partner objectives and assist to ensure that all deliverables are executed both on site and on and off line (website, social media, email blasts, print and outdoor advertising, etc.)
Prepare and distribute sponsor tickets / compile guest lists for various shows
Assist in the development & implementation of seasonal survey
Input sponsorship & development data into database(s)
Proactively document sponsor/partner activities for post season client recap presentations including gathering and analysis of data, and PowerPoint presentation development
Provide general administrative support for Sponsorship and Marketing staff

 

Desired Education/Experience/Skills

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or currently pursuing degree in related field
Some experience in sponsorship, client management (interacting with a client), experiential and music marketing, and/or live event execution is preferred
Must be self-directed and proactive, highly organized, computer literate, outgoing, and able to think on your feet
Must possess strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
Must be proactive about administrative office tasks, as well as eager to engage with the public onsite, both with utmost professionalism
PowerPoint presentation development and graphic design skills (Photoshop), as well as knowledge of social media platforms, new technology, Microsoft Outlook, and traditional marketing are all a major plus! 
Knowledge of and a keen interest in music and the performing arts are desirable

 

Schedule & Compensation

Pre-season: 2-3 days per week in office (flexible based on individual’s schedule).
In-Season: 4-5 days per week, includes office work and performances (primarily Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights) - 30 concerts, approximately June 7 – August 12
Must be available to work all performances – including weekend nights
Days off are almost always Sunday and Monday
Somewhat flexible schedule outside of above constraints based on particular individual’s schedule.
$16 per hour
