The Center for Arts Education is seeking a Special Events & Development intern. This internship is a fantastic way to gain hands-on event, fundraising and development experience. It presents a valuable opportunity to take part in producing the 5th annual Arts Jam Fundraiser, while gaining significant institutional and individual fundraising experience inside an established and respected NYC non-profit.


Internships are paid and will work on average, 2 days a week from March 1-June 30. We are also happy to work with you to obtain academic credit.


Special Event Responsibilities:

-      Work closely with the Associate Development Director on all aspects of the event.

-      Conduct auction item outreach, follow up and itemization

-      Conduct journal page follow up with sponsors and resolution to digital version.

-      Track and update CRM database with event ticket sales, pledges, and auction progress.

-      Assist the Development Department in maintaining and updating event website.


Development Responsibilities:

-      Participation in varied departmental tasks/support of overall fundraising effort.

-      Clean and update CRM database and records.

-      Assist and Development Associate with gift tracking and acknowledgements. 

-      Prospect identification and research.


General Requirements and Skills for Application:

-      Prior work or intern experience in an academic or business setting

-      Excellent research, organization, written, oral, and keyboarding skills

-      Ability to work independently and on a team with a willingness to learn

-      Raiser’s Edge, or CRM, experience a plus (not necessary)

-      Event experience including work with auctions, silent, mobile bidding, tables and ticket sales and

journals is a plus!
