Japan Society Film is currently seeking a part-time intern to assist with administrative and operational tasks related to the upcoming Fall/Winter season of film programming. Interns will be involved in research, promotional efforts, film screening support and general office work.

Research for future film programming
Email and social media marketing and promotional outreach
Print material drop off at relevant venues and institutional spaces
Film screening support, including ushering and ticket handling
Archiving film screeners and updating databases
General administrative tasks (filing, mailing, copying, etc.)
Translation and proofreading support as needed

15-20 hours/week, 3 days a week. Weekend and evening hours are required when there is a screening. This is an unpaid internship, but school credit is available.

Strong written and verbal communication skills
Well-organized and able to multi-task
Self-motivated with strong sense of initiative
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Knowledge of/interest in classic and contemporary Japanese cinema
Fluency in reading/writing and speaking Japanese not necessary, but strongly preferred
