Fresh from a sold out run at American Repertory Theater, Waitress makes its highly anticipated Broadway premiere. Funny, uplifting and surprisingly poignant, this irresistible slice of life features Broadway’s first all-female creative team: original music and lyrics by five-time Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles, a book by acclaimed screenwriter Jessie Nelson, direction by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus (‘97SOA), and choreography by Lorin Latarro.

Tony winner Jessie Mueller (Beautiful) is Jenna, a waitress and expert pie maker stuck in a small town and a loveless marriage. Faced with an unexpected pregnancy, Jenna fears she may have to abandon the dream of opening her own pie shop forever, until a baking contest in a nearby county and the town’s handsome new doctor offer her a tempting recipe for happiness. Inspired by Adrienne Shelly’s beloved film, Waitress is an empowering celebration of friendship, motherhood, and finding the strength to pursue even the wildest dreams.

Tickets are available to current Columbia students, staff, and faculty.
