About The Performance
The “superb pianist” (The New York Times) Jean-Yves Thibaudet joins Rafael Payare and the NY Philharmonic for Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 2, with its tender opening giving way to an extroverted role for the solo piano culminating in a fiery finale. With his final symphony, unfinished at his death, Bruckner pushes the boundaries of 19th-century harmony in this work of tremendous emotional power.
