About The Performance

The Grammy Award–winning Attacca Quartet has been described as “close to epitomizing the string quartet ideal: four strikingly individual players with the ability to speak eloquently in one voice” by The Washington Post, and as “one of the most versatile and outstanding ensembles of the moment—a quartet for modern times” by The Nation. In this free performance, the quartet responds to a public art installation in Madison Square Park by Cristina Iglesias—her first temporary project in the United States—which situates five bronze sculptural pools within the park to conjure the memory of an ancient stream that once flowed through the site.
