About The Performance
Inner Styles chronicles the internal meditations of Alanna—an 18-year old popstar-wannabe reeling with anxiety against the backdrop of a pandemic-stricken gap year. Alanna can’t start her music career amidst a lockdown, afflicted instead with musings about her past and future alike. All the while, an overbearing subsconscious— embodied by Harry Styles, who she both wants to be and is in love with—dictates her every move. Inner Styles uses dark, blunt humor and historical fiction close to our own memories to shape an external embodiment of the adolescent mind in the opening months of the pandemic.
PLEASE NOTE: This production deals with topics surrounding anxiety/mental health, at times relating to recovery from an eating disorder.
