Get ready for ONYX, a collective of Columbia’s Black and femme-focONYX is a Columbia University hip hop dance team composed entirely of women and gender nonconforming individuals, intentionally centering dancers of color while honoring the Black foundations of hip hop.

Their work intentionally centers the Black experience, celebrating the cultural, political, and creative legacies that shape the form. ONYX dances exclusively to music by BIPOC women and GNC artists, using movement as a practice of community, resistance, and joy.
