A concert of seventeenth-century music by Salamone Rossi, Girolamo Frescobaldi, Biagio Marini, Tarquinio Merula, and other Italian composers.
The evening includes remarks by harpsichordist Rebecca Cypess, author of Curious and Modern Inventions: Instrumental Music as Discovery in Galileo’s Italy, which explores how both musical and scientific instruments served as vehicles of exploration and innovation.
