About The Event

Start the semester on a bright note with Morningside Lights, the beloved annual procession of awe-inspiring handmade lanterns floating through Morningside Park to Columbia’s campus. Meet fellow art lovers on the Miller Theatre stage for an evening of making and mingling as you create your own mini lantern inspired by this year’s theme, The Reimagined Monument—a celebration of the free exchange of ideas and an homage to the libraries that preserve access to knowledge and affirm our freedom to read. End your night illuminated by a radiant display as we join the Morningside Lights procession to carry our lanterns across College Walk together.

Open to current Columbia and Barnard students on a first-come, first-served basis with limited capacity.
