Norwegian-born saxophonist and composer Ole Mathisen, director of Columbia University’s Louis Armstrong Jazz Performance Program, has been a celebrated figure on the New York and international jazz scenes for over two decades. Renowned for his technical brilliance, adventurous compositions, and remarkable versatility across genres—including classical, jazz, electronic, and experimental music—Mathisen returns to Miller Theatre to perform his latest project Vector Series (2024), alongside long-time collaborators Craig Taborn (piano), François Moutin (bass), and Dan Weiss (drums).
