About The Event
Join Mother Country Radicals creators Zayd Ayers Dohrn, Ariana Gharib Lee, and Thai Jones, in conversation with Professor Samuel G. Freedman for a discussion of their award-winning podcast.
Zayd Ayers Dohrn is the Project Creator, Host, Writer, Producer, and Executive Producer of Mother Country Radicals. He is also a playwright and Director of the MFA in Writing for Screen and Stage in the Department of Radio/Television/Film at Northwestern University.
Ariana Gharib Lee is an award-winning podcast producer and the senior producer of Mother Country Radicals. She currently is a producer for NPR’s enterprise storytelling unit and an adjunct professor for Daniel Alarcon’s “Telling True Stories in Sound” at Columbia Journalism School.
Thai Jones worked as writer, researcher, and historical consultant for Mother Country Radicals. He is the Curator for American History at Columbia University, where he teaches the history of radicalism. He is the author of several books, including A Radical Line: From the Labor Movement to the Weather Underground, One Family’s Century of Conscience (Free Press, 2004). His writing has appeared in The New Yorker, The Washington Post, The New York Times, and the Occupied Wall Street Journal.
